Artwork Story: Motherhood and family relationships fascinated Victor throughout his creative years. Maybe it was because he was the youngest in a big family, and maybe because of his special connection with his mother. The Mother with Infant artwork belongs to a special style which can be recognized in some of Victor’s sculptures – “cochlearity” (closed or open circles and a deep connection between figures). The “cochlear” lines in Victor’s artwork formed over the years and inspired many artists in Israel and worldwide. The lines form figures, which tell a different story from each angle, yet whose essence is unique and inimitable. The sculpture of a mother protecting her son and enveloping him with her body is characteristic of a group of sculptures with full bronze mass, whose shapes create air spaces at just the right proportion.
